A CT (Computed Tomography) scan uses X-rays and advanced computer technology to create highly detailed cross-sectional images of bones, organs, blood vessels, and soft tissues. It helps diagnose trauma, stroke, heart disease, fractures, cancer, infections, and more.

- Remove jewellery, dentures, belts, and metal objects.

You will lie on a sliding table that moves through a circular machine.
- The scan is painless and quick.
- You may be asked to hold your breath for a few seconds.
- A contrast dye may be given to highlight organs or blood vessels.
Most scans are completed within 5–10 minutes.
CT is generally comfortable.
- No noise or enclosed tunnel like MRI.
- If contrast is given, you may feel brief warmth in your arm or a salty taste — both are normal and temporary.
- After the scan, you can resume normal activities immediately, unless advised otherwise.
